Two stagehands injured at Jazz at Lincoln Center

NEW YORK

The two stage hands were working with a production crew at Frederick P. Rose Hall and were putting up stage material when the genie lift they were working with tipped over and landed on the flooring below.

The genie lift was at full extension.

One worker, who was in the lift at the time, sustained minor neck and back injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

A worker below the lift sustained a possible broken leg and was also taken to a local hospital.

A spokesperson for Lincoln Center later released a statement saying: "During the setups for an evening performance at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theatre, two stage hands were involved in a minor accident. They are receiving medical attention and the performance is scheduled to commence at 8pm as planned. The incident is not related to any activity or equipment that is used during the performance. We will provide updates on the status of the two stagehands as they become known."
