Verizon workers are ready to strike

FLATLANDS, Brooklyn

It looks like there will not be an agreement before the clock runs out.

Workers were getting the picket signs ready in Brooklyn Saturday night.

The two sides have been negotiating for months but there has reportedly been little progress over company demands for major concessions from its unions.

"We're willing to talk about anything but when it comes to job security and off-shoring, sending jobs overseas, that's a big sticking point for us," Executive Director of /*CWA 1109*/ Chris Calabrese said.

A strike by /*Verizon*/ workers would involve telephone repair technicians, customer service representatives and cable installers from Massachusetts to Virginia.
