Man rescued by NYPD from top of 30 Rock

NEW YORK

Rescuers were called to the top of 30-Rockefeller Center when a man crawled onto a ledge threatening to jump.

Newscopter Seven was over the scene as the 23-year-old man sat calmly on the ledge of a concrete pillar.

He was perched 70 floors above Midtown.

He threatened to jump, but the NYPD's Emergency Service Unit sprang into action and convinced the man to return to the safety of the observation deck.

The man was then taken to Bellevue Hospital for observation.
