FDNY releases 9/11 commemorative book

September 6, 2011 7:26:41 AM PDT
The FDNY is releasing a 10th anniversary commemorative book to remember the 343 fire department employees who were killed in the September 11th terror attacks.

The department was hit the hardest of any group.

All of those who were killed were rushing in or trying to help people who were desperately trying to get out of the burning towers.

The hardbound book is the only official FDNY first-hand account of what happened that day.

The foreword was written by President George W. Bush.

The hardbound book is available through the FDNY Foundation at www.fdnybook.com.

Proceeds from the book benefit the FDNY Foundation which funds fire safety education, as well as equipment, training and education needs for FDNY members.
