A new study shows eating dried plums can help women protect their bones.

Researchers from the University of Florida found plums helped prevent osteoporosis and fractures in post menopausal women.

The women in the study ate about 10 dried plums or prunes every day for a year.

They also took calcium and vitamin D supplements.

The research showed the women had an increase in bone density.
