NYC posts record tourism numbers in 2010

NEW YORK

A record 48 million people visited New York City last year, spending more than $31 billion.

In the days after the terrorist attacks, New York lost $323 million in visitor spending as flight restrictions and fears of another attack kept travelers away.

Broadway lost $5 million in ticket sales that first week, hotels dropped to only half full and restaurants lost up to $10 million a day.
