Google in the classroom

NEW YORK

This year for the first time ever, an entire district will be using Google Apps for education. Each student in third grade up to 12th grade is given an email account which they can use to get to the school's Google page.

Once they login they can access daily homework, notes and class discussions from any computer anywhere. They can also communicate with their teachers outside of the classroom.

Students can also work online in groups and actually edit on the same document or presentation. District officials say this is just the beginning of a classroom revolution.

Teachers at the forefront of the change say online resources like this are sorely needed.
