NYPD recovers van; no terror evidence

NEW YORK

The NYPD has been concerned about the two thefts and a third in New Jersey because of unconfirmed threats that al-Qaeda was planning a car-bomb attack.

But police said Sunday that they'd found no evidence linking the thefts to a terror plot.

The two dark green Chevy vans were stolen earlier this month from Tully Construction. The company has been involved in recovery work at the site and is currently doing roadwork on West St. near 1 World Trade Center.

One of the Tully vans was recovered late Saturday on a residential block in Queens. The other one is still missing.

Also missing is white van stolen from a storage facility in Jersey City.
