The driver of a Mitsubishi Galant crashed his vehicle into the median after getting into an accident with another vehicle just after 5:00 this morning in /*Queens*/.

When the driver of the Galant got of the car to look at the damage, a passing vehicle struck him and kept going.

The other vehicle involved in the initial accident also fled the scene, police said.

The 65-year-old victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was later identified as Jerry Kishun. His family told Eyewitness News reporter N.J. Burkett that he was heading to his job as a clerk in Woodside when the accident happened.

Kishun, a Guyanese immigrant who came to the U.S. just over twenty years ago, is survived by a wife and four grown children.

Several lanes of the westbound /*Grand Central Parkway*/ were closed in front of LaGuardia Airport as authorities investigated the crash.

Descriptions of the vehicles that left the scene were not immediately available.
