Detectives say Luis Pulgarin was caught on surveillance video taking the tags off $1,300 worth of merchandise at the /*Hicksville*/ store.
Two store agents stopped him outside, but they say Pulgarin knocked one of them to the ground before the second agent tackled him.
Police say Pulgarin had two women and a child helping him, but they got away before officers arrived.
