Acting Essex County Prosecutor said /*Jodi DeSoto*/, wife of /*Judge Hector DeSoto*/ died after the accident Saturday night.
Police say DeSoto was crossing the street with a friend when she was struck by an SUV that fled the scene.
The incident took place on /*Rhode Place*/ around 8 p.m. Saturday night.
DeSoto was a court employee, as she served as team leader in /*Judge Michael Ravin*/'s court.
