Starting in mid-October, 36 rush-hour trains on the /*Harlem*/ and /*Hudson*/ lines will have one car for riders who want a trip free of cell phones and other loud distractions.
The original pilot program, on the /*Port Jervis*/ and /*Passaic Valley*/ lines, has been such a success that it's being made permanent.
