Finding fun in learning on Sesame Street

NEW YORK

The new season continues that tradition by focusing on "STEM education"-- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

"We want to give preschoolers the leg up and give them the potential to have careers like doctors," executive producer Carol-Lynn Parente said.

The leg up is needed in the united states where studies show kids still score lower on math and science tests compared to Asian countries. Elmo and cookie monster say the secret to success is making it fun, from launching Hubert out of a cannon and learning the physics of projectile motion. The new season of Sesame Street begins on Monday.
