Police say 29-year-old Hector Sibija of Albany, N.Y., died after being stabbed multiple times in the torso late Thursday.
Police aren't sure if the suspect used a knife or another sharp object, and they had only a vague description of the suspect as a man in his early 30s with a thin build.
Police found the victim, and a woman who'd also apparently been cut by the assailant, after being called to Motel 6 at about 11:30 p.m. on a report of a fight.
The 21-year-old woman was treated and released for injuries to her arm and head.
Police are seeking help from anyone with information about the crime.
