Autistic boy, 12, arrested after joyride

A 12 year old Long Island boy is safe after taking some construction equipment for a joyride.

Police say the boy, who has autism, was reported missing Saturday afternoon.

Investigators say he found a construction vehicle with the keys in the ignition in a Levittown neighborhood.

The boy drove the truck down a street, hitting two parked cars before coming to a stop on a front lawn.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The boy was charged as a juvenile and released to his father's custody.
