The financial capitol of the world is almost running on empty, at least when it comes to gas stations.

Crains New York Business reports gas stations in Manhattan are disappearing.

There were 58 stations two years ago. Now, there are just 41 stations for an estimated 830,000 cars and trucks.

The stations sit on land worth tens of millions of dollars if developed into office and apartment towers.
