Cross-dressing crooks rob pricy handbags

Chanel bags were the target of two apparently cross-dressing crooks at a Lower East Side boutique, and it was all caught on camera.

Ashley Turen says two people who looked like men dressed as women came into her store on Thursday acting like they wanted to try on clothes.

When she wasn't looking, they were swiping two hand-painted vintage Chanel bags off the wall worth $3,000 each.

She says she was suspicious of the duo from the moment they came through the door.

She went running after the shoplifters, but they got away.

Turen says she's now considering keeping her pricier items locked up or chained to the wall.
