Police shoot possibly 'wanted' dog in North Merrick

NORTH MERRICK

Witnesses say it appears to be the /*pitbull*/ cops have been searching for that attacked 62-year-old /*Shashi Sharma*/ on September 29th.

The pitbull was shot at around 3:15pm in front of /*Precious Kids II*/, a daycare center at 1430 Jerusalem Avenue.

There were around 40 kids inside the center at the time. A worker at the center said they're not on lockdown, but nobody has left yet because of the police activity.

Police say it is yet to be determined if this was the same dog. They will compare this dog to the pictures of the pit bull they previously released to the media.

Two pit bulls attacked Sharma in the parking lot of a senior center at 1260 Meadowbrook Road at the end of September.

Sharma remains in critical condition at Nassau University Medical Center treatment for injuries.
