Police: 2 killed, 4 hurt in southern NJ crash

MANCHESTER, N.J.

But it's not yet clear what caused Friday night's crash in Manchester, which occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Route 70.

Police tell the Asbury Park Press that vehicles driven by 73-year-old Ian Warrender of Manchester and 41-year-old Pamela Trotter of Wrightstown collided and then struck a third vehicle. Trotter was pronounced dead at the scene while Warrender was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he died a short time later.

The occupants of the third car - a local couple and their children - were being treated at Community Medical Center in Toms River for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
