A Long Island school district is reconsidering its game-cancellation policies after more than a dozen football players suffered hypothermia symptoms during the snowstorm.

Plainview-Old Bethpage Superintendent Gerard W. Dempsey Jr. tells Newsday that officials will have internal discussions, then go to the athletic association.

Fifteen players were treated for hypothermia symptoms at the John F. Kennedy High School game against Valley Stream Central High.

Plainview's game was cancelled at halftime, before most of the players went to the hospital. All 15 were treated and released.

About 10 players were checked for hypothermia at a game involving two other Long Island districts. Not all of them were diagnosed with the condition.

The Bellmore-Merrick district's Calhoun High School of North Merrick played the Sewanhaka district's Carey High School of Franklin Square.
