A four-alarm fire burned through a row of homes in New Jersey Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out at one of the homes on Rebecca Place in Elizabeth just before 5:15 a.m. and quickly burned through the roof before spreading to at least three other homes.

The neighborhood is just south of Newark Liberty International Airport, near Elizabeth Avenue.

A massive fire department response battled chilly temperatures in battling the blaze. The fire was under control shortly after 6:30.

At least two dozen people were left homeless.
