Elderly driver strikes pedestrians, minivan

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J.

The elderly man was at Wood Dale County Park with his wife.

They were leaving the park when he lost control of his vehicle.

He struck a pedestrian, then swerved hit a second pedestrian, and then swerved again and slammed into a minivan.

The minivan hit a third pedestrian.

Accident was caused by an elderly man who shifted his car into the wrong gear and lost control.

None of the injuries are serious.

The five victims, the three pedestrians and two drivers, were all brought to Pascack Valley Emergency Clinic and Hackensack University Medical Center by ambulance and helicopter.
