$10k reward for suspect in deadly Queens hit & run

NEW YORK

The family of bar owner George Gibbons gathered in Maspeth Sunday to hand out posters of the suspect in the hit-and-run that killed Gibbons last month.

A car going the wrong way slammed head-on into a livery cab carrying Gibbons, on an LIE service road.

Police say the driver of the other car, 36-year-old Peter Rodriguez, fled the scene on foot.

Gibbons' family says they won't give up until Rodriguez is found.

"I believe we are very close to finding him. There have been spottings as far as we know. And we would just like to give George a bit of peace of mind and rest because we believe he deserves a lot more," the victim's sister Bernadette Gibbons said.

Local businesses and community groups have raised a $10,000 reward for Rodriguez's capture.
