Suspects sought in Yonkers home invasion

Police in Yonkers are looking for the bandits who wounded a resident before fleeing after he fought back.

The crime happened shortly after 5:30 Sunday evening on Warburton Avenue.

According to investigators, the two bandits knocked on the door of a 69-year-old man, and then forced their way into his apartment brandishing a shotgun.

One of the suspects then struck the victim with the shotgun twice to the victim's head.

The victim grabbed the gun and a violent struggle ensued, and a shot was fired from the weapon by one of the suspects.

The suspects then took off with taking a thing.

Police canvassed the area for the suspects, but they were not located.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was treated for minor lacerations and released. It does not appear that anyone was injured from the round which was fired from the weapon.
