Vice President Biden in New York City Wednesday

CRESSKILL, N.J.

Biden has campaign fundraisers just after noon and at 6 p.m., and in between he'll meet Archbishop Demetrios, of the Greek Orthodox Church in America. He also stopped by Live! with Regis and Kelly Wednesday morning to bid farewell to Regis Philbin, who is retiring at the end of the week.

On Tuesday night, Biden attended a fundraiser in Cresskill, New Jersey, raising more than a quarter million dollars.

A campaign official told The Record newspaper that the money raised will go to the Obama Victory Fund. It's a joint committee of the re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Couples paid $10,000 to eat short ribs with Biden.

The dinner marked Biden's first trip back to New Jersey since 2009, when he came to campaign for then Gov. Jon Corzine.

Kempner, the CEO of the MWW Group public relations firm, is one of President Barack Obama's top campaign "bundlers" - called so because they bundle donations from multiple donors. Last year Kempner hosted a $30,400 per head fundraiser at his home for President Obama.

Federal Election Commission records show Obama's re-election campaign fund has already raised $1.2 million in New Jersey.
