Michael Pickering, 40, of Norwalk Connecticut is an assistant coach of the freshman football team.
Several members of the team interviewed with their parents told detectives that Pickering gave the password to a pornographic website to them.
Police have seized computers belonging to Pickering ford for further investigation.
He is charged on three counts of risk of injury to a minor.
Bail was set at $50,000.
The school had removed Pickering from any contact with students or players.
The superintendent refused to disclose when he learned of the incident and whether the coach also works in the school system.
Police say they became aware of the matter on Tuesday night after being contacted by Eyewitness News.
Staples High School has 18-hundred students.
