Trooper Frank Bandiero says the body was found by a jogger near a bicycle path adjacent to the parkway shortly before 8 a.m. Friday.
The victim was not immediately identified. Bandiero says he was a white man in his 50s.
He was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was declared dead.
The police spokesman said an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death.
