According to the Journal News, (http://lohud.us/vOY63u) opening statements are scheduled Wednesday at the second-degree murder trial of Michael Aviles and Lissette Capellan.
The 5-month-old baby's name was Michelle. Her injuries included multiple fractures to her skull and ribs.
Authorities say she was beaten sometime between Jan. 15 and Jan. 16 at the family's home in Haverstraw.
Prosecutors say an autopsy also found evidence of earlier injuries, including healed fractures.
The mother's attorney, David Goldstein, says she is "completely innocent."
The father's lawyer did not return a call for comment.
