A holiday tree lighting event on Long Island could be renamed to include the word "Christmas."

Newsday ( ) says a decision will be announced by the Mount Sinai Heritage Trust, which will host the Sunday night event.

The trust is waiting for replies to about 800 surveys.

At a community forum on Tuesday night, everyone who spoke said they favored calling the event a "Christmas tree lighting." That included two people who said they're Jewish.

A land trust official has said everyone is welcome at the event.
