Students help city crack down on taxi refusals

College students are giving a boost to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's call for taxi reform.

A sting by the Taxi and Limousine Commission shows that nearly 30 percent of drivers refused to give rides to customers wanting to go outside Manhattan.

The TLC hired students for the job because officials say drivers have learned to spot city officials and adjusted their behavior accordingly.
