Study says oral flu vaccine may work better

A new study says getting the flu vaccine orally may work better than a shot in the arm.

The antigen called matrix protein two is found in flu shots, but when the protein is administered under the tongue of mice, it not only prevented mice from getting flu viruses it also boosted lung immunity.

Researchers at the International Vaccine Institute in South Korea are still experimenting with the oral vaccine.
