Vincent Heyward was sentenced Monday. The 23-year-old was convicted last month of predatory sexual assault, rape and other charges.
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. says Heyward inflicted "a monstrous pattern of violence" on his victims.
Heyward's lawyer declined to comment after court.
The women ranged in age from 23 to 69 when they were attacked in 2009. Prosecutors say Heyward raped several women at knife-point and slammed another victim's head into the floor after dragging her down her apartment building's stairs.
Some victims were followed into their buildings. Prosecutors say in one case, Heyward broke into a woman's apartment while she slept.
