Office workers protest as strike deadline nears

NEW YORK

They are set to strike when their union contract expires at the end of the month.

It's just a couple of weeks before the deadline and union 32BJ.

The protest is for office cleaners, where they marched from 41st and 6th to 48th Street.

Due to the march, 6th Avenue was reduced to two lanes.

A strike could impact a number of the city buildings.

The workers voted to authorize a strike. The deadline for a new contract is Jan. 1st.
