Extended warranties are very enticing, expecially for cautious consumer but in the long run the research show they're just not worth the money.
You may get the gadget at a markdown but any savings go "see ya" if you tack on the added cost of an extended warranty.
"And they always mention it, and you always like, should i shouldn't I, Yes you're always worried like as soon as i get home is this going to break, stores really push the extended warranty because they make more on it that the product," said Amanda Walker, with Consumer Reports.
