Pinstripe Bowl players visit 9/11 memorial

NEW YORK

But Wednesday night, the thoughts of the players on both teams were far from football.

They paid an emotional visit to ground zero, to see the 9/11 memorial.

Among them was Eric LeGrand, the Rutgers player paralyzed while making a tackle last season.

For these young men who were in grade school the day of the attacks, the memorial made a powerful impression.

This week the players are also touring the Empire State Building, and taking a cruise around the Statue of Liberty.
