A 49-year-old mother is charged with buying alcohol for dozens of minors New Year's Eve.

Police say she hosted a party at her home for 50 teenagers in Mahopac, in Putnam County.

Today, there was no answer at the door, but all around the house: evidence of a party.

There are bags of trash around the house and beer cans strewn about the yard.

Someone called police to Heather Drive early Saturday morning to investigate a suspicious vehicle. What they found were two teenage girls drinking from a bottle of vodka, with two additional bottles on the floor of the car.

When police went to the house, they say as many as 50 youths between the ages of 18 and 20 were downstairs drinking.

The homeowner, Catherine Apollonio, allegedly admitted buying a keg of beer.

The 49-year old was promptly arrested.

Police call Apollonio's decision an error in judgment.
