Transit alert from Eyewitness News

January 4, 2012 8:17:05 AM PST
Amtrak service on the Northeast Corridor between Philadelphia and New York is delayed due to downed wires near Philadelphia.

Engineering crews are on the scene making repairs.

Two of the four tracks are now available for operation. Passengers should expect residual delays throughout the morning as we work to restore full service.

Passengers who have paid for travel but wish to change plans can receive rail fare refunds or rebook for future travel without a fee or penalty. If tickets have not yet been printed, the modification or cancelation can be done on or by using the free Amtrak for iPhone app.

Passengers are encouraged to call 800-USA-RAIL or visit for Service Alerts and Passenger Notices.
