So to tear downs those barriers, Dr. Buka has created Spot Check. It's an app that costs $4.99.
Dr. Buka walked me through it. You simply take a photo of your mole that concerns you, upload it and send. Within 24 hours, users get a response from a board certified doctor.
The doctor will offer one of three responses:
1. It's not a mole at all. 2. The mole looks typical and safe. 3. That it's atypical and it needs to be checked as soon as possible.
The app will show you doctors in your area and those doctors have pledged to see Spot Check users within two weeks because time is of the essence.
