GARDEN CITY

Among the most prominent points of interest, 1 block away is the Majestic Cathedral of the Incarnation.

Built in 1876, the village literally sprung up around it and today remains the heart of the Episcopal Church in the county.

About three blocks away is Adelphi University. It is a private, non-sectarian university. It is the oldest institution of higher education on Long Island. It was named a 2010 best college in the northeastern region by the Princeton Review.

Right across the street from the commuter stop is The Garden City Hotel. The hotel describes itself as a tradition of grandeur and luxury that is over a century old. From the civil war to the roaring twenties to the new millennium it has been a favorite of the rich and the famous.

If shopping is your thing, the shopping district a block away has just about anything the fashionable shopper could want, but if golf is your thing Garden City has 3 golf courses, all within walking distance of the train stop.

Golf, shopping and spiritual history can all be found within 7 blocks of the Garden City stop on the Long Island Rail Road.
