NEW YORK

Researchers at UC Berkeley studied the brains of elderly people.

They found those who kept intellectually stimulated as younger adults ended up with fewer deposits of a plaque in their brain linked to Alzheimer's.

Activities considered mentally challenging in the study included things like reading and crossword puzzles.
