Police say the victim, an 82-year-old man, was walking along West Side Avenue in /*Jersey City*/ just after midnight when a man shouted out to him.
The victim said he turned onto Clarke Avenue and saw two men following him. The pair then attacked him, police said, beating him and taking about $100 and other papers.
The attackers where both described as being in their 20s.
