10 people, including 4 children, hurt in Brooklyn fire

NEW YORK

Residents rushed out of the building on Pennsylvania Avenue in the East New York section just before 5:30 a.m.

Eight residents were hurt, and the four adults and four children who were taken to the hospital all sufferen non life-threatening injuries. One person's injuries were considered serious.

An older woman was hospitalized after hurting herself while climbing down the fire escape. Two firefighter were also hurt.

The fire is believed to have started in the area of a stove on the buildings second floor. The exact cause is under investigation.
