Multiple people became involved in a dispute during a party at a home located at 43 East Poplar Street.
During the dispute, which eventually moved outside the home, Christian Jordan was shot once. Jordan, 30, of 28 Cedar Road, Amityville, was transported by ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.
Another man was assaulted during the dispute.
He sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
