Man found shot to death in Coram

Homicide detectives in Suffolk County are investigating the shooting death of a Selden man on Monday night.

Suffolk Police received a 911 call reporting a man shot in the backyard of 22 Judith Drive in Coram.

When police arrived, they found Luis Vargas, 21, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Vargas was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center by Coram Fire Department ambulance.

He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
