A worker was rescued after being trapped when a trench collapsed in East Harlem.

The collapse happened near 122nd street and Park Avenue.

It was 90 minutes of tense, heart pounding drama that ended when FDNY emergency workers pulled the victim out.

The hole was a trench workers were digging to do waterproofing work on the building.

Late Friday morning the sides gave way and one worker was buried.

The worker seemed to be alert and stable as he was pulled out and transported to the hospital. He was seen trapped up to his chest in the trench.

Rescue workers used a vacuum truck and their bare hands to dig through the dirt and debris to rescue the worker.
