Accused school peeper crashes corvette into police cars

LINDENHURST, New York

Police say 31-year-old Joseph Ciambriello was high on drugs driving his black corvette - when he crashed into five police cruisers before finally coming to a halt in North Lindenhurst.

After a number of taser attempts had no effects, the suspect, police say, began to run away.

Eventually five or six officers were able to tackle him to the ground.

Police believe Ciambriello was the man creeping around Harding Avenue Elementary School in Lindenhurst this morning.

When a school staff member confronted Ciambriello he said he was a member of the CIA.

While the staffer went to notify security, "The head custodian noticed him peering in the windows, the door, had a flash light. The head custodian said can i help you. He said he was town, village security," said school superintendent, Richard Nathan.

The school officials were able to capture Ciambriellos's license plate number and called the police.

By that time Ciambriello had already taken off but police weren't too far behind him.
