Judge won't lower bond for accused NYC madam

NEW YORK

Anna Gristina, of Monroe, was briefly in court Tuesday in her prostitution case. She has pleaded not guilty.

Defense lawyer Richard Siracusa says the bail is "extremely high." He's noting she faces one low-level felony charge and has a clean record.

But Assistant District Attorney Charles Linehan says Gristina was heard during the investigation saying she would flee if charged.

Linehan says Gristina claimed she had "connections in law enforcement" who'd let her know if charges loomed.

Police have declined to comment.
