Two girls among victims in Bronx triple shooting

NEW YORK

Investigators say at least one man opened fire inside a store on Holland Aveune in the /*Bronxdale*/ section around 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

If a picture speaks a thousand words, then an x-ray speaks volumes. It shows a bullet lodged in the back of a man's head.

The victim is a 47-year-old who asked us to conceal his identity, but he agreed to show us his bandages and talk to us in Spanish about what happened.

"I was outside doing a job and a guy fired shots at another man, one of the bullets struck me but I feel good because thank God I'm alive, which is what's most important," he said.

He says he didn't get a good look at the assailant, who police say also shot two girls - 15 and 12 - inside the bodega.

One was hit in the stomach and the other in the leg, but we're told their injuries are non-life threatening.

Investigators say they're still searching for suspects and are still piecing together what happened, but they're hoping surveillance video will provide some clues.

This area is part of State Senator Rueben Diaz's district. He says incidents like this show that crime in the Bronx is getting worse, and he wants to see more police patrolling this borough.

"Definitely, they've got to get out of the cars. They've got to get back on the beat," he said.
