Multiple injuries in funeral procession crash

Sixteen people suffered injuries in a bizarre multi-vehicle in Springfield Gardens, Queens.

The vehicles were apparently part of a funeral procession when a limousine in the procession lost control after it was rear-ended by another car also in the procession.

The limo then crashed into a corner store there accident at Guy R Brewer Blvd and 144th Avenue.

The accident happened around 11:30 Saturday morning.

Officials said that one person was seriously injured, 12 persons suffered minor injuries, and three others suffered superficial injuries.

Some of the victims were transported to Jamaica Hospital.

Police said none of the injuries appeared life-threatening. The most serious appeared to be one woman with a history of heart problems who complained of chest pains.
