The Brooklyn Navy Yard is getting a green makeover that developers say will help the economy and the environment.

A rooftop garden is being installed on top of a building at the industrial park.

Produce from the garden will be sold to local restaurants and stores.

City officials say the soil will soak up enough rain to keep more than one million gallons of sewage out of the East River each year.
